So, just before Christmas my Babe asked me to make a knife for a workmate who does a lot of craft type stuff. Bit of a no brainer on the type of knife, a kiridashi would be ideal.

So it was duly done and when the Babe showed it around at work, her other colleague said, “that’s great would Trevor make one for my husband?”
Now, husband is an outdoorsy type so a kiridashi would be wrong. So, puuko style with a pear and boxwood handle. No prizes for guessing what the blade is made of.

Yep, it’s a file..
Apparently husbands son absolutely loved it and so I found myself making another. This time with an oak and african blackwood handle.

So, I’m thinking this kind of makes me a Custom Knife Maker eh?
