My eldest gets married in February and I wanted to carve something for her.
A ring box is the obvious choice eh?
Well there are a couple of issues there, firstly I’ve never actually made one, secondly, my workshop isn’t truly finished yet. That means none of the big technical machinery is up and running.
So, simple to make and low tech is what was required.

I opted for a pivoting lid and decided to use a brass tube as the pivot. Peened out top and bottom to clench the lid to the box and give a stiffish pivot action.

Part of the reason for the tube pivot was so I could tie a blue ribbon bow through it. Kate’s colour scheme includes navy blue.
